Job Summary
This position will perform routine accounting functions such as ledger/account maintenance, account analysis, reconciliation, and journal posting in keeping with Statement of Financial Standards (SFAS), generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures. Additionally, you will prepare financial reports through analysis of simple operating statistics and/or financial data and provide relevant financial information that improves the planning and control decisions of managers related to the accounting function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Routine Accounting Functions
- Reconciles and maintains the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of calculations
- Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; update records as necessary
- Assist in the monthly close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Prepare and enter Journal Entries
- Prepare and reconcile financial reports
- General ledger account maintenance
- Preparation of intercompany entries for elimination to facilitate consolidated financial statements
- Fixed asset Accounting.
- Heavy experience with month-end close process
- Assist with annual 1099 reporting.
- Assist in other projects assigned by the Finance Director
Additional Duty
- COE Activity 10% of work week
Education Required:
- Bachelor's in accounting or finance. 1-3 year’s current accounting experience in the role of Staff Accountant is preferred.
- Working knowledge of standard business internal control processes and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Office applications and have a familiarity with accounting software packages.
- Prior experience in non-profit environment strongly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk, bend and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work week/ hours of work:
Monday – Friday during business hours. Typical hours will be 8:00am – 5:00 pm with some flexibility on the start and stop times.
