Job Summary

This position will support the Finance team by transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights. The position blends accounting knowledge with strong data analytics, Power BI dashboarding, and reporting automation to support leadership decision-making. The position will also perform routine accounting functions such as ledger/account maintenance, account analysis, reconciliation, and journal posting in keeping with Statement of Financial Standards (SFAS), generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), payroll, and company policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Routine Accounting Functions
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards for financial and operational reporting
  • Strong experience with Power BI, including:
    • Data modeling
    • DAX measures
    • Dashboard design for executives
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot preferred)
  • Reconciles and maintains the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of calculations
  • Assist in the monthly close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Prepare and enter Journal Entries
  • Prepare and reconcile financial reports
  • Preparation of intercompany entries for elimination to facilitate consolidated financial statements
Other Duties                                                                                                               
  • Assist in other projects assigned by the Finance Director (Controller)
  • Working with HR with payroll responsibilities and data entry in HRIS system.

Additional Duty
  • COE Activity 10% of work week

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's in accounting or finance.  1-3 year’s current accounting experience in the role of Staff Accountant is preferred.
  • Power BI and or data analytics certification or training strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of standard business internal control processes and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Office applications and have a familiarity with accounting software packages.
  • Prior experience in non-profit environment preferred.

Work week/ hours of work:

Monday – Friday during business hours.  Typical hours will be 8:00am – 5:00 pm with some flexibility on the start and stop times.
